I have a Rev H1 TIU. I can get no voltage to pass thru Variable 1. The TIU is powered via a wall wort to the Aux port, and blinks 4x when powered on. This is expected as I had previously set this TIU to TIU4. I can get voltage thru Fixed 1, Fixed 2 and Variable 2. Just to confirm that I did not have something haywire with the communications to the hand held, I deleted both V1 and V2 and then re added them.  (TIU Tracks) Variable 2 again responds and Variable 1 does not. I pulled the cover off and checked continuity on all 4 fuses. All are OK. With the fuses in place, and the meter leads placed on the input black and output black for each channel, all allow current to pass, so they are good. I gave the board components a once over with an unprofessional eye, but could not discern any burn marks. Suggestions for what to check or do next?

There is programming that turns the output of Variable one and Variable two (on/off).

Menu/System/DCS Setup/TIU1/Variable1/ (soft key)On

Menu/System/DCS Setup/TIU1/Variable2/(soft key)On

You could also try:

Menu/System/DCS Setup/TIU1/Variable1/(soft key)Fixed

Menu/System/DCS Setup/TIU1/Variable2/(soft key)Fixed

Needs to be checked before assuming something is broke.

Guys,

Thanks for all the suggestions. It turns out the first one (GRJ's)was correct, at least as far as I went with the testing tonight. I was able to run a conventional engine on all 4 circuits, and use the handheld to vary the speed when connected to V1 or V2. Tomorrow night I plan to dig out a PS2 engine and see how that behaves. I will start with charging the battery...

Mike, I'll keep those sequences in mind. I hope the reset would have left all the signal generators in the ON position.
