I have several tracks set up on variable channels. Some of them will come on at full power when the transformer is turned up and some start at 0 and have to be turned up with the remote.  Is there a way to set them to come on with the transformer handle?  I've read the manual and Barry's book but I must be missing something.  Thanks in advance.

Thanks Gregg,

I'm not looking to make them fixed channels though.  I was wondering if you can set the voltage to either 0 or some other voltage when the handle is first turned on.  For instance my sidings I'd like to start at 0 but other tracks I want at 18V when I first apply power.

Even though the channel may be set to fixed you can still vary the voltage by using the TR button. only problem.. the voltage is... what ever goes in    comes out  when in fixed mode.   If set to FXD with  18 V on the input, 18 volts is on the out put.    if you select the TR you can then  vary the voltage to whatever you want.

If you put the var  channel in var mode the voltage starts at 0 volts and you can scroll up to whatever you need.

To accomplish what you want you 're probably going to have to use more than one  tiu channel (I think)

Steve,

I was wondering if you can set the voltage to either 0 or some other voltage when the handle is first turned on

Yes, you can.

However, you must set the TIU Tracks to Variable. Then, one at a time, select a track from the TRK screen and use the MPG soft key to first set the maximum voltage and then set the minimum voltage.

If you set the tracks to Fixed, the variable channel will react just like a fixed channel, i.e., whatever goes in, comes out.

If you set the variable track to variable, and set the starting and maximum voltages as described above, when power goes into a variable channel, nothing will come out until you select the track and roll the thumbwheel up one click. Voltage will then go to the minimum value that you set. Continued clicking up will go only as high as the maximum voltage that you set.
