Okay ....found the vinegar washing was great....now as I observed after cleaning some track the sparking silver was becoming a light bronze color......have these pieces out in the Florida sun.....dries in minutes......108 heat index.....what’s the problem and how to get rid of it........

Use a ScotchBrite pad (not sandpaper!) to clean any dirt and gunk off the track, then clean the track off with a rag dipped in Naphtha.
I’ll try it.....I did re scratch pad the track....and it came back to the nice silver again......what does the naphtha do......
Naphtha is a very good cleaner and degreaser. Use it to clean and degrease track, wheels, rollers and slide pick-ups, and everything else on your layout. Will not dissolve the shellac on motor windings or harm paint.

What percentage of vinegar do you use? Do you water it down at all?
