I've been waiting and watching myself. There's no LHS in my area and the nearest shows are almost 100 miles away. That leaves the newspaper and train magazines .

Oh well, It gives me something to do.

That's sort of unusual as Who, other than serious Lionel Enthusiast, would know about all the features, and why the price for a Truly Toy Train Engine, is $2700 plus.....

So, he put it up for sale in the local classifieds at a price he knew it would never sell for.

Yeah, that's going to be a tough sale for him...Especially with new ones available for less.

The guy you mentioned with the PS Challenger kills me also.  I predict a lot of train shows he's going to be taking it home.

The only VL BB I saw on the secondary market was the one listed here on the forum.  And, it sold.

I'd like to pick up another JLC Legacy BB, but after hearing the VL BB whistle, I just can't pull the trigger now 

i think sellers and buyers need to be educated on the warranty. 

Knowing what we know unless you purchase it from a dealer you are SOL on repairs.

Honestly, your best bet is to buy one new... 

There are quite a few more new ones out there.

As for the $1900 Challenger the box already looks like it's seen a lot of shows. There was a inner voice waiting to say "I'll give you $400 for it",  but I figured it was just best to shake my head and move on

I am on ebay many times daily (the only way to pick up great locos at 60-70% off street price) and I see some sellers asking way too much for their model RR items. I can't figure it out; are they crazy? are they living in a fantasy world? Do they NOT want to sell it? Do they really think it is worth more ten years later? Or, are they just crazy

Hey, they can ask anything they want...Economics, Emotions, Supply and demand will determine the final buying price!
