Any insight or tips on voltage drops when running my engines at speed?
I'm accustomed to the small dip from 18 to 17 volts on my Z4000's readout when I run an engine at track speed, say, 40 scale mph. However the new Premier N&W 611 in my collection is causing the voltage to drop significantly more when operated at 20 scale mph or above. It'll drop from 18 volts on the read out to 14-16 volts, all below 40 scale mph, too. Of course this leads to running issues, so I have to increase power when the 611 is moving, and then decrease it if I have 611 sitting idle. Out of my 20 some engines, several much larger than 611, none cause this kind of dramatic voltage drop when moving. This remains the case if I shut all smoke features off, and run the engine light. Meanwhile I can have two of my H-9s paired up with 20 cars in tow and smoke on, they'll only cause the normal 18-17 volt drop.
