I myself found myself thinking "Oh, so that's how they do that" several times over the course of this video. You might too, if you've ever wondered how some modelers scratchbuild brass railcars. Much of what is shown is applicable to O scale, which is why I thought it may be of interest here.
*I believe the oddball scale is so that HO track can perform as the 36" gauge that much of Japan's conventional rail network is comprised of.
