I noticed the prime mover sounds get drowned out by the wheel noise. Any way to make it louder? The horn and bell are fine but I can only hear the prime mover when it's in neutral. Anyone else have this issue?

Chris, searching on WBB 44 ton to see about removing the lettering and also adding TMCC I've seen that complaint quite a few times but I didn't see if anyone found a way to increase the volume.
Joe, it has a pretty small speaker, so any major increase in volume is probably going to take some work. The little speaker in the MTH 44-ton locomotive seems to belt out pretty good volume, so I suspect it's possible with a better speaker and audio drive.
I don"t have a 44 tonner but I do have a wbb gp-9 with true blast 2 ( I think that is what the system is called.) Anyway there was a small pot on the board that I made an adjustment too so I could hear anything. Appearently the pot got bumped during a derailment. I thought the sound board had died but it turned out a minor adjustment was all that was needed. I would at least pop off the shell and look for something adjustable. good luck
There is a nearly microscopic blue potentiometer on the Williams True Blast Plus boards, as used in the 44 ton. Pop the shell, locate said potentiometer and adjust away.

I'll pull the shell and give that a shot. The sound in the WBB is not all that bad. It will eventually get an ERR Cruise control upgrade at least.
