What a great thought! I'm Open.
Yes, I remember that day very well. I live in Tuttle, Oklahoma... approx. 15 miles from where the twister took the sudden change in direction to the NE. It went through El Reno and Yukon after crossing through Interstate 40. There were other fatalities from the same twister, two were a mother and her baby that were sucked out of their car on the North side of I-40. It is very unusual for any twister to change direction as this one did, and the fact it was the largest ever and had multiple associated vortexes. However, I have to say this, if it had NOT changed direction, it was on a straight line course for Tuttle, along with South Mustang and several schools of all grades. With the twister that hit the schools in Moore, loss of 24 children, in the same storm season, May 6, well......
Yes, the storm chasers do perform a very serious, dangerous duty. It is a job performed for the safety and benefit of so many more. All who live in our area will never forget that year and all the destruction it brought to us.

Thank you mike. And I'm very sorry "Texastrain" for your area. I watched "storm chasers" all the time when I was about that time I would have 8 by then. I knew all about trains, titanic, weather(wanted to be one), and airplanes(future job).
While in sales several years ago, I was chased out of emporia, KS by a tornado. Cops were speeding too.
