I've had a set of Weaver NYC E-8's forever - since they came out. Nice locos, but they've been on the shelf for a decade or more.

A friend got a set of UP's at auction recently, and noticed that they have no exhaust stacks (compare with the K-line, etc.).

Huh. Go figure.

Probably this was discussed here a million years ago, but I don't care. It's just funny.

The little quarter-inch crew gets teary-eyed I'll wager, what with all the smoke in the cab.

So! Nothing that PSC or O Scale America brass parts can't fix.

those units also did NOT have:

step ladders on trucks and rear
no rubber diaphram
no die cast fuel tank
underbody piping detail

IT was the first of it's kind affordable and mass produced E8

IF you are looking for more separate detail, then either the K-line or the MTH e8's will have what you want.
