Does this stay up the year around or do you change it each Christmas?  If it is not displayed the year around, where do you store the buildings with all their boxes?

Thank you for sharing and happy railroading,

Don

Thank you. I do take it down every January and build a new one each year starting in the Fall. I wish I had a permanent layout so I wouldn't have to box it all up very year. I store everything in what amounts to a climate controlled crawl space. Haven't had any real issues with that except I could do without the crawling part.

Great videos folks! Crab Cake, what a huge job that must be setting up and taking down every year. I  really enjoyed the detail in the scenes like the grinch and Santa giving the first gift of Christmas from the PE movie..... the sleigh parked with the reindeer really captures the feel. Did I see a Dept 56 ceramic bus moving?

Now I'm kinda bummed the holidays are over

Thanks Rick. It is a huge job but I really enjoy creating a new display every year. Taking it all down is another story. It is getting more and more clear that a permanent layout would make more sense. You are correct about the Dept 56 school bus. It moves on a D56 animated track.

Big Crab cake, that is excellent video of your Christmas Train Layout!

Here is one of my last video's of my 2013 Christmas Layout.  It is still up, but I plan I taking it down by the end of January.  With the amount of time it takes to set it all up, it is hard to take down.  In this video, I have 3 of my Southern steam engines on the same track following directly behind each other.

Big Crab Cake,
Yes, I did back in November.  I created a thread on Christmas train layout memories and included my video.  I always like hearing stories about others on memories of their Christmas Train Layouts.  Thanks for the comment on my video. I believe pictures sometimes do a better job than just writing about it.  There are many great stories in that thread. Here is the link to that thread.
