Rest in peace, Fred.
Myron, wherever you are, hope you are well. Thank you for moving OGR magazine forward and supporting this Forum. Best wishes to your wife and daughter, too.
Peter
My Postwar 2055 is back after being sent out for service and mechanical rebuilding. Always has and still does run like a fine Swiss watch! I have it running around my outer loop with a beautiful train of the new MTH Premier 64' 19th Century wood passenger cars.
In recent weeks, I've added many new shelves to the walls in the basement. I had installed a few several years ago, and a few pink ones were left over from the previous owner (who about painted the whole **** house pink...UGH!). I've got a few more to put up, maybe this weekend if I have time.
Here's Korber Ted's Textiles in progress. Come see it at the Korber models booth, in the orange hall
Here is a Legacy PRR RS11 I did a mild 3rs job on. I just wanted to fix the pilots and mount Kadees and get to running it. The pilots are so off anyway I didn't want to spend too much time on the project.
T minus 2 weeks & counting till moving day. Saturday I took a drive up to my LHS in Spencer to pickup some track for the new layout & decided to stop over to NCTM & Shoot 611 - Hurricane Matthew provided the rain.
& N&W 620
The very 1st PS2 MTH locomotive I ever purchased was this Railking PRR RS-3. I ran the wheels off it until finally it died. At the time, it would have cost more to fix it than to just replace it so I put it in "storage". I finally decided to convert it into a dummy unit. I managed to add an engineer figure where MTH couldn't and equipped it with an LED headlight. Paired up with a powered RS1 they make a nice pair no matter which is leading - long hood forward of course(!).
I love the old Alco RS series locomotives.
Just finishing my River Leaf Radio Station. When you order a station from RL Andre will make any call letters you want. I picked KPOA because it's the local Hawaiian station here. I modified the kit with round lights and LEDs plus a few little extra things. The billboard on the side is for a old radio show called "The Railroad Hour". For you railroaders that have never built a kit, these are fun and easy to build. Don
Here is a few pic's of new train items i got. MTH Sunoco Chrome Tank Car and Lionel Chessie (C&O) PS1 Boxcar and Lionel Chessie Stock Car with farm animals.
State of the current art upstairs...
I think I'm breaking every "rule" there is. I've got PRR Centipedes pulling Southern Crescent passenger cars, a GM&O GP-35 pulling a Northwestern caboose, and a Conrail SD-80 in there somewhere... At least it has the right caboose on it. I think. The only normal thing is the delightful SP ABBA passenger set on the outside, but the cars are all empty, no one aboard.
Ah well, beginnings... At 6 years now, I think I'm still beginning. Well 6 years in total. What you see above is only a few months now since the new purchase and move.
Layout power upgrade. I added another Legacy PM to power my steam yard separately. Also changed over to 135s because I like their breakers a little better than the 180s.
Jake, wonderful looking 1615. That was the last train of two my Pop bought for me when they came out I think about 1956 or so. I wanted an engine with the coupler in front so I could double head with my 2026. I was about twelve years old then and my Dad thought I was a little old to play with trains but I got it anyway for Christmas. If he could see my collection now. Thanks for brining back some nice memories. Don
Thanks for the likes guys!
