Scott,
Ive said it before, I really like what you and your son do with the trains at your church! Then you work at the museum. When do you have time for a job?
The large building is the Simpson Lee Paper Plant condensed into 3 parts for a smaller space.
The paper mill is still in Vicksburg, Michigan.

These are pics I shared in another thread, but i wanted to expose them to the larger group....After seeing the train, a fellow whose wife works for my wife brought out his great uncle's AF 3 railer PreWar set for me to look at...What a treat!

Note to Dan986:
The photo of your mother and sister with the 261 is fabulous. These are the memories which stay with us forever. Well done and thanks for sharing.

the O Gauge Flyer looks great. They have some on display at Oglebay.
Under tight security, MARS officials are meeting with Santa as the final work is being done to prepare the Polar Express for it's nightlong journey. Merry Christmas everyone. Bo
In a week, Christmas will be here and gone. I found it interesting and heartening that you can still find toy trains for sale in a department store. This is Boscov's in Scranton. They have several sizes of trains, but O is represented by the Lionel Polar Express and the Pennsylvania Flyer. I have my own Polar Express under the tree this year, so this one stayed on the shelf.

Most of the museum work I do on Wednesday mornings. I have a 6:00 AM Bible study on Wednesdays so I just plan on staying in Roanoke all day. So most Wednesdays I spend 2 to 3 hours at the museum. Sometimes I will go over another couple of days to work on a big project (Halloween, Jurassic World and Polar Express). As far as church goes, I set up once at the beginning of the month and bring in trains on Sunday mornings in December. There are some people that will visit our church just so their kids can see the trains.
My wife had knee surgery Friday, so I will be scaling it back tomorrow. I will be running a 384 Blue Comet Set and a Blue Comet colored 381 Electric Engine on the two Standard Gauge Tracks and the Scale Polar Express and the Polar Express Trolley on the two O-Gauge Tracks.

Say, that Lionel ex-GM&O ICG GP30 sure looks better with the proper Alco trucks. Now it just needs to be dirtied up.
Just a few more days to Christmas!!!
Chicago Union Station and Amtrak getting ready for the PE train trips this week! First photo is Track 1, north concourse. They really dressed the place up nice. Second is the HO layout they were setting up next to the Great Hall. It was drawing a nice crowd on Friday even during the set up phase.
My sincere Thank You for all the comments and "Likes" for my layout shots for the Weekend Photo Fun (12/18/15) are extended to:
