Haven't posted this one in a while...

4 Horsemen.  This one of my favorite photos from my layout at my first home.  The lineup to me is impressive and IMO the scenery wasn't half bad for the mix of tinplate track and postwar style engines.

Marty -  I vividly remember this photo from back in '09 it probably was when I first joined the Forum. Have always been a fan of the F3s and your photo encapsulated so many memories for me - Thanks  Great shot!

Thank you for all the nice comments regarding the images of my under construction engine servicing facility. There was a joke from Al Zamorski about the turntable. Indeed, it is one made by his company, Millhouse River Studio, and it is a beautiful model of a Pennsy turntable. I had it for almost four years before finally installing the darn thing. The work was done my my friend Mark Vinski who usually works on the layout with me twice a week. The roundhouse is by Atlas. He cut the stall width down from an unrealistic 15 degrees to about 9 degrees which looks MUCH better, and allows the installation of six stalls instead of four. (There are two kits spliced together as the original kit comes with just three stalls.)

The Modular Group had our annual February Breakfast Meeting where we reviewed 2017, set out our 2018 agenda and elected new officers for the year.

This is our annual "pancake breakfast" at my place. My wife saves the day by making some treats the night before:

Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake

Rasberry Buscuits

Tater Tot, Cheese, Egg & Sausage Casserole.

We always have a great time.....if you live in Central VA, come and runs trains with us!

We see the markers and the drumhead on the observation car of the Texas Eagle depart Notch Junction (Tower NT),  As the end of the train crosses the deck girder bridge over North Indian Creek Creek, an ex-Ozark Mountain Narrow Gauge RR 2-8-0 pounds up-grade on the Frisco's Silver Dollar Line's bridge over the same creek.  The Silver Dollar Line is the rail connection between Mamaros, atop Roark Mountain, and the rest of the world via the yard at Notch.  The line carries the ore from the Lucky Silver Mine down the hill to load onto standard gauge cars for shipment to the smelters.  It also lifts up the heavy grade all the goods necessary to sustain the town, making life much easier for the local (and famous) Missouri Mules.

Do you know what brand the Santa fe's are ?

They were Lionel, the ones that came out 10-12 years ago with the American Flag on them. (Flags were still in the box). These were donated back in December to the museum.

SIRT, I see a hose in front and a pipe rack across the back which I believe means liquid storage.  Petroleum product or some chemical storage?

They are Walthers HO tanks for (background scene) forced perspective on the new industrial module.

Here are some updated photos. I painted some last night on this build. I still need to paint the lower front facade. I'm going to do a gloss black which I think these were supposed to represent those black stone or tile they used to put on buildings.

Little more painting this morning

It's no SIRT level stuff... but I'm getting there.  Two almost finished works.20180204_213347

Rugged Rails Santa Fe I cut up and weathered for the chop yard.  I've designed an engine I need to 3d print to put just inside with a welder working on it to finish it up.

20180204_213408

Union Pacific boxcar I weathered and added "new replacement panels" to.  A few more details and it will be done.
