The 4'x8' plateau in the back left. closeups coming. It held: a lake, a picnic area, a huge car show, a greenhouse selling veges, and a dinosaur park

Switchers this week...
1950's image of a PRR switcher moving an X-29 boxcar into Goodman's Feedmill in Port Royal, PA...
And a 1980' s view of the crew of a Conrail MP15 getting ready to switch the PA Sand Glass plant near Mapleton, PA...
That's it for this week! Enjoy!
For my layout's late 40s era, the Pennsy had one RS-1, an AS10s (ALCO Switcher 1000hp Steam), it purchased for passenger service. It was Cab# 5906 and planned to be used around Baltimore. The most noticeable thing about it was an exhaust stack just in front of the cab for the steam generator. I have the early Atlas RS-1 that I am looking at modifying to make it the AS10s. Adding the exhaust stack should not be that hard. My biggest concern is putting the correct cab number on it without having to repaint the whole engine. Adding it to my project list.
My version of Amtrak’s Coast Starlight is now taking a rest:
Just after a run on the layout recently:
New arrivals - 8654/55 B&M GP9s. I already had a 8655 powered unit, so now I have 3 units
Work continued on the hobo camp and tunnel/mountain area this week.
The 3 B&M Geeps are seen pulling a coal drag around the layout -
I found this cool Grand Central Gems structure at the Amherst show. Looking forward to placing it on the layout.
Union Pacific departure from North Station.
I decided to place a few trains on display in my dining room. Sometimes, I have them out for a couple of weeks, and other times for months. I spent way more time deciding what to put out next than I need to, but here is the result of all that mental distress I put myself through.
I decided to go with a trio of Reading Company trains. All are K-Line 1990s trains. Far left is the very well detailed Crusader. The display area is kind of short, so only the locomotive and two observation cars are out. Middle is a typical K-Line 4-6-2 with green accents and yellow trim. This came in a set with two freight cars and a caboose. On the right is an A-A set of Alco FAs. This is a custom made locomotive commissioned by the Schuylkill Haven Borough Days planning committee. A few of my freight cars add to it to make it a train.
Nice variety of noses here.
The tail ends of the trains.
A little late this week but some photos from my latest video featuring the Century Club 1 engines. The 671 Turbine.
And commemorative boxcar.
The Tinplate Trackers of Austin, Texas setup this past weekend at the CARTS Bus Station in Georgetown, Texas for a fun run. Here are some pics of the event.
Christopher, the pine bark nuggets are very convincing as rocks.
Tim is that 4-6-2 one of the 3000 series Pacifics K-line made in so many liveries? I've got the NYC 3010, The Anheuser-Busch 3014 and the Ringling Bros. 3004.
Certainly not prototypical or realistic but I think they are still fun to watch. A fully restored and repainted Marx Commodore Vanderbilt tinplate passenger train and reproduction Lionel 1917 army train circle my all tinplate all the time MASSIVE 3x4 layout. Everything on the layout is tin.
A late entry posted to the PRR thread, but my latest PRR locomotives for my future layout. I found the CLW H10 by accident while searching for the E6s which is a 1980's Sunset Model. The hunt for an appropriate H10 tender to operate on Lines East is on!
