We went to AGHR this morning and ran the Rail Runner some more. This time, my second-oldest came along to do the driving:
Having a little buddy, of course, also means I don't get to pick the trains we bring... so we also ran the Blue Comet loco pulling a seemingly random set of cars I've customized. The bantam Blue Comet was my first command engine, and still works great!
(My kids have recently discovered Scooby Doo, thus this new addition to the fleet. Scooby was surprisingly hard to draw, so I cheated and just did the head. I'm thinking of adding a load of Scooby Snacks inside)
We also went to Milepost 38 today, and I picked-up these beavers. At first, I had no clue what I'd use them fur, but I was soon pelted with ideas to chew threw. I finally settled on the best dam one.

Hi Frank. Yes, it always has been and always will be a floor layout. 1/2" blueboard first topped with 1/2" Homasote. Thanks for asking.

That is some of the best looking autumn foliage I've seen. Really nice. The colors are believable (slightly subdued), yet still reflect the wonderful colors of autumn! Also, the texture of the foliage looks really good in the pictures. Would have loved to seen that in person and talked to the creator of that foliage.
Peter:
You are THE MAN when it comes to photo coverage at a train show/display. I've been meaning to compliment you before but just didn't get around to it.
Anyway, thanks for your heroic efforts to bring us the photos!
Lots of great pics! I was at a train show today in Pittston PA, and had an amazing show for the three folks I was selling stuff for, not so much for myself though. Traffic was steady most of the day, and sales were good. I had some Plasticville and Lionel buildings that all sold; these were for my wife's patient's daughter. I sold a 1955 Lionel RTR set for our former choir director, and at the end of the show, another vendor bought all the remaining items I have been selling for a friend and former co-worker. My sales were OK, but I made up for the poor sales in commissions, including two rings of smoked Kielbasa!
I saw several people I haven't seen in a while, including a new train friend I met in Bethlehem about a month ago through one of the facebook forums. Some of the vendors I talked to had a good day, while some questioned why they came. I guess it's a crap shoot. I enjoyed the day, even though my wife, who had planned to come with me had to work today.
A relatively young HO modular club was the main attraction for folks young and old. I took a few photos included below.

Great photos by everyone as always. Just another shot of the F7s. The ABA consist has an FP7 leading.
Some real train action in eastern Arizona from late last month. Three nearly new GEVO's and a AC4000 at 70 MPH near the New Mexico border.

Peter,
Thank you very much for all the great photos from Richmond! I have looked at the Pittsburgh Lego layout the last couple of times I was at the Monroeville Greenberg show. Legos sure have come a long way since I played with them in the '60s.
