Weekend Photo Fun starts now!!

Late last year the Virginia Museum of Transportation received a nice train collection as a donation. One of the items was a Lionel UP 2-8-8-2.

After much discussion it was decided that it would be repainted to a Virginia railroad. For the last two weeks I  had the engine home working on the repaint. Here is the result.

Wednesday I also brought some other Interstate locomotives to run as well.

Two weeks ago, I had the privilege of hosting the monthly meeting of the NMRA Pittsburgh area group. I was extremely gratified to have a turnout of over 50 people, including a number of TCA members. The photos show not only the guests enjoying the layout, but some overall views that I rarely post. There is also an image of a few of my guests enjoying some goodies in the adjacent "crew Lounge."

Neal, Your layout has got to be one of the most inspiring I've ever seen. I've been following your progress for years now and taking notes. I hope my next layout can capture the same realism as yours.

It was my privilege to once again visit the Paradise & Pacific Railroad Club in Scottsdale last night. This layout is for entertainment of the Public and as you can see in the photos they are changing their scenery from the Christmas/Winter to getting ready for Easter. This is a GREAT bunch of guys and if you are ever in the area of Phoenix I would highly recommend for you all to stop by and visit with this club. The Layout is open from 10am to 5pm 7 days a week.

That Interstate 2-8-8-2 looks awesome. I wonder if MTH or Lionel would consider doing this in the future? I have the IRR Mikado and all of the MTH IRR RS3 runs.

Alex,  Very impressive.  Pan Am is one of the few fallen flag airlines that I really miss.  I flew Pan Am overseas several times back in the day.  It was a great pioneering airline.  I hope that you will be able to install it near a model of Grand Central Terminal.  I remember seeing the two buildings together in NYC.

Thanks Johnny. I would love to see MTH or Lionel make these as well. I think the Interstate had the nicest paint scheme of any of the 2-8-8-2's. The cast-in detail on this models was a real pain to paint.

Very impressive Alex. I remember seeing that building many times when I went to New York to visit my brother and his wife.
