Thought I would add a better picture of this than I did last weekend. You can find this engine in the for sale forum.
Hey I think I have seen this locomotive in a movie. It had rossie odonald and kelly lablac it was about a wemen baseball team in ww2.I think there was a silver e6 or e8 in the back ground. We got one here in nc at the spencer transportation. Its a sal 2-10-0 that was saved from the scarper.Next time your in the n.c. stop by and check it out.Belive me you won,t be sorry.
Matt,
The MP36 is not an EMD product. It is made by Motive Power Industries in Boise, Idaho. They used to be the old Morrison Knudsen, MK Rail who made some unique locomotives in the past for Southern Pacific. Motive Power used to use EMD 2-stroke engines for all the commuter locomotives mentioned in this thread. But for their latest commuter locomotives they will be using GE engines. I am not sure if EMD’s decision to re-enter the passenger locomotive business with the Metrolink F125 had any influence on their decision to go to GE engines.
These are just my opinion.
Thanks,

Rail Runner -
I have an interest in these locos for some custom work: I have no interest in the
NM Rail Runner as such. But, if they are modeled (the shells) -properly-, I'd jump on the locos.
Problem is, these locos are designated "M36" something... and are, so far as I know,
NOT the same as the already-made FP59 that MTH has offered. They are similar, but
have a different outline, sleeker than the 59's. I believe.
So, even if MTH offers "these", they aren't, probably.
Or, maybe I dreamed all that. Diesels can confuse me; it can be like telling one
washing machine from another.
There are two. There's the MP36PH-3C 3600HP unit being used by Metrolink and others. The shape is pretty sleek, except the pilot looks like it was involved in a collision since they don't have snow plows in place. The F59PHi's pilot looks much better -- with or without a snow plow. The other one is the MP40PH-3C which is 4000HP version.

Metrolink (and probably others) have ordered the new EMD F125 Spirit. They're supposed to be delivered in 2015.
When you think about it, they've come full circle with streamline commuter passenger diesel locomotives. They started with the EMD F-unit covered wagons (FT's, F2's, F3's, F7's, F9's and the E-units) and now they're back with EMD F59PHi's and now F125's.

I know. The EMD reference was the direction they're going. The MP36PH was identifying the model a previous poster was asking about. I failed to mention the manufacturer when I ID'd the model.
Looks like SIRT has done some of his excellent weathering for the CSX rolling stock in Youngstown.

Good Morning from Chicago! I'm sitting here after another good night aboard Private Car Mount Vernon. This has been the rail adventure of a lifetime. Trip Started on Friday the 18th and ends Monday. We are leaving Chicago tonight on #50. The absolute best part of the trip was a visit to Big_Boy_4005 in Stillwater, MN. Look for a separate post and photos of that visit in the Three Rail section..
More photos will also follow in the Real Trains section.

A few more from our trip to strasburg, plus I might add I finally joined the TCA while I was there.

BANDOB.... can you share the private rail car trip with us?? that has to be a great experience and
visiting Big Boy Elliot is icing on the cake !!
StPaul
Thanks all who commented (and liked) the Dump Truck. I still need to color the window trim with aluminum paint. For those who asked, its a Speccast White WC22 Dump Truck in 1/50th scale. A bit hard to find, but they are still out there

Brian;
I was hoping you would post your rail runner to this thread. I had shown my Niece the real ones from earlier and told her you had made one. Now she has seen yours and liked it.
Yo everyone else,
Thanks, This is my Fix for the week as my main layout is still vaporware from the move. I have a carpet loop but it's wearing thin and the engine is giving me fits.
"BANDOB.... can you share the private rail car trip with us?? that has to be a great experience andvisiting Big Boy Elliot is icing on the cake !!"
Sure, St. Paul. In fact, I've already started to. If you go to the Real Trains Section and look for "Want to See some Freight Trains?" and "Minnesota Commercial Railway," you can see some of the photos taken. "A visit to Big_Boy_2005 is in the three rail section. I'll do a summary post as well on the trip itself, once it is done. Look for my posts in the "Real Trains" section over the coming week.
Nice to see your photos Terry. One of the best southwestern theme layouts in O-Gauge.
Bored and waiting for the daughter and grand daughter at the train station, I took out my phone to see if I'd missed any calls. As the train approached, I could see there was a different engine than the we normally see on this line from Boston to Dedham. Set the phone on movie mode and caught the new MPI HSP 46 bringing the girls home. MBTA purchased 27 of these 4- axle AC- traction diesel electrics, with an option for 13 additional units, for a total of 40, to be delivered by 2039. This was my first viewing of the GE GEVO-12 powered engine.
Very cool, Dotty.

Boy the "T" sure has come a long way!

The T has come a long way. Time for mike to invest in some new tooling!
Did some railroading with my son this morning at AGHR. We ran his Hudson first... then pulled out my Pioneer Zephyr (after a snack break) and ran that around a bit. He's only 2 1/2, but he's a great train buddy!

I received this from Germany this week. Looks just like my old '83 Jeep Wagoneer Limited.
That's a nice pre-Fiat Jeep. Will you please post a link for the vendor?
Thanks.
That's one of the things we love about you Dotty, you are all about trains all the time. Thanks for the video.
ATSF Cliff - This guy is cheaper than the dealer I bought mine from. If you don't like one of these colors, I will be posting the dealer I bought mine from after I look for the box.
The prices on these things are all over the place.
Sent you an email.

Great video! Bonus points to "The T" for running such a clean train.

I suppose one could extend this naming homage with the parallel of those deeply flawed but nice looking HHP-8.
These double ended streamlined electrics have the repeated next number in the alphabet to the Famous GG1's. I know these are flawed but I hope that at least one gets preserved. The Pennsylvania Museum at Strasberg has several GG1's and an E60 it would be nice for them to get an HHP-8 as well to continue the story.

I knew the girder looked familiar but cannot recall why I use to drive there. So that must be West Ave. running between Mahoning Ave. and W. Rayen Ave. If that is the old B&O track-age the old B&O station would be one way and Passarelli's would be in the other direction along Mahoning Ave.
