I bought some junk tinplate (repaints) at an estate sale a couple of years ago. So I thought I would try to do something different with them.

There were only 2 700 series cars, so I will have to look around and find another car or two to complete the set.

Let's see your pictures.

Here's a follow up from my dad's layout from last week.  This one was dated 1958 (before Google Image Search so you are out of luck).  I'm also pretty sure I didn't take this so all credit goes to one of my ancestors.  Just the simple layout at Christmas before my mom insisted it goes downstairs in the basement.

Just so I don't leave the Google Image searcher in a lurch, I included what became of dad's layout after years being downstairs and his two boys got more involved. You can still find many of the pieces from '58 on here.  And BTW I'm pretty sure I took this one but feel free to Google Image Search it if it makes you feel better.

Today's photos show a bunch of newly acquired SD-45's...a PC and EL powered version by  Lionel, and a RDG non-powered Railking Scale version from MTH. To portray the early days of Conrail, ca. 1976, there is also a Lionel CR SD-40.  Photo with the EL unit taken at View interlocking at Duncannon, and the photos with the RDG version taken a few miles to the west. Enjoy!

Looks good Alex. What was it, and what is it going to be? Looks like a police station, city hall or something, either that or a station building to subways or such.

Hi Dave

This was originally 4 MTH banks that were cut apart and made into a passenger terminal. I will continue to post photos every week here until its complete.

Thanks, Alex

The Amherst Railway Society had it annual sale and silent auction tonight in their new club building in Palmer, MA.

As usual it was crowded, especially since a free dinner was served catered by the Steaming Tender Restaurant, Palmer MA.

Most of the items were HO and N. There was a small cache of old Plasticville and a few accessories. I saw 1 Lionel car and 1 RailKing Car. My only purchase was this AF water tower for $5.00.

Have a fun weekend everyone, Lad

That has got to be the ugliest observation car I have ever seen. Who did that to that thing?

Lol! Yep, it's a heck of a hack job. It reminded me of 'Fast times at Ridgemont High' when the dude wrecks the car and his buddy says he can fix it cause his dads a tv repairman and has an excellent set of tools!!!

Linkage comes apart going around on the outside of curves.

IMG_0515

This is a sleeve I made out of a female connector plug.

IMG_0516

The small hole is somewhat square shaped so that the linkage can't rotate without the sleeve rotating too.

IMG_0520

It can only run on the outside of curves with the sleeve on but at least the linkage does not come out now.

Amcdave, this is actually the 054 locomotive from 1992 item number 6-18023.  This occurs on 048 curves.  This is very temporary I am in the planning stage of a layout with 054 min curves, but I wanted to test the locomotive out.  I read in a thead (This thread) that this locomotive would run on 048 as long as running gear is run on the outside of curves.
