Richard Gonzales, Alan Graziano in New Jersey made it all. We had that Cargo Van packed with no extra space. So 1500 miles later we have it sitting on the layout under construction, Just sat in in about it's location without power or tracks. Very Happy to get it all in the basement.

I believe they only made the red one shown above. I also think the red ones are quite popular (and I can see why), so they're a little tough to find.
There's a great slide show on CNN featuring night shots of trains:

Lionel has only made the Christmas Dockside in red.
Bill,
The picture of Alex giving the "thumbs up" is priceless.

A ride on the D train:
Jim
Jim,
I don't remember seeing those on your layout!
Bill,
Those photos are under the heading of "Things that were!" Lots of evolution took place on the layout over the last several years.
We were sitting in the area formerly occupied by that elevated station scene. I miss it sometimes, but, if things hadn't changed, there would have been no room for Pinnacle Peaks now, and the basement would be a much less comfortable place to run trains.

Here are a few pics of my new platform passenger cars. Made in Switzerland in the 1970's. The cars originally were built for 3-Rail but I reworked them to 2-Rail.

Alan, Alex and Chad were both sooo excited to get all of your CREATIONS on the layout.
Friday night Dianne and I had dinner with Alex's family and after dinner we went to the basement and placed it all on the tables that Chad built while I was on the road to New Jersey. I am sure glad I had that Cargo Van to haul it all in. That 9' long caego bay and 4' wide between the wheel wells and almost 6' wide bulkheads were just the right size.
Thanks to Lee Ann for her help with the packing materials, and a HUGE THANKS to you for Getting us loaded and back to the motel. Your suggested route leaving and our streaching out the gas stops saved an hour and a half on the return trip. 700+ miles eaxh way in 2 days has me still a little tired lol. Thats why we unloaded Thursday but worked on it Frisay night.
Alex thinks I should make another trip next week and bring another load home for the layout from your shop
Patrick, thank you. It was a FULLLLLL CARGO VAN FULL.
I am glad I did not have to stop at the weigh station's along i-80 in PA or my wife and would still be in jail I
Nice Photos everyone, thank you all for sharing.
Here is one from The Fort Pitt HiRailer layout at the Lionel Service Center Open-House last month.
And here is my son practicing his airbrushing skills (with water) on the garage floor. I was getting ready to do some painting and hadn't had the airbrush out for a while, so I did some quick testing with water & let my son practice a bit. I'll have him ready to paint rails for me soon!

A pair of 3R boxcars in various stages of completion for a forum member and a 3RS SD40-2 waiting to get stripped and detailed.
You are going to to strip off those beautiful Chessie colors?
I get it the customer is always right, but I couldn't do it.
Needless to say I don't think I could have worked for CSX when they were in repaint and letter mode.

Jim - you're welcome to come visit out elevated station anytime - as we copied the design from you!

Our friend, BridgeBoss, made a five track train shed for us that we installed on the layout this week.... I took my camera there today and then left it behind when we headed home, but here's a picture off of my phone..... More pics coming!

Mr Muffin, Jim's Train sheads look good on your new layout. Looking forward to seeing more pictures of the layout status.
Finished up my restored 517 caboose.
Dave,
Your 4-6-0 is loosely based on the New York Central's Putnam Division commuter engines. MTH had this engine in their catalog for several years (see 30-1158), and it has re-emerged as the standard RTR set engine, replacing the Pennsy H Class 2-8-0.

Patrick - What did you do to that Lionel class J? Looks great! Did you get it to speak 4 chuffs per revolution? Thanks for shating a great picture
Anyone else notice the flood of Lehigh valley stuff that Trainz had on The Bay?..... They even had some pieces on their own auction..... We picked up several, including this MTH Rail King RS-3 and Cabeese.... With so much at once, I figured that it must have come in from an estate.... Just like to let the previous owner know that lots of it found a good home with us Muffins..... God Bless him, or her...

Thanks, Bobby, that's interesting to know! The author of the article on the MTH 4-6-0 in OGR, George Brown, would find that interesting, too, since he says he could not determine a "particular prototype". Which is what I went by. And Liam, adding figures adds to the overall look IMHO. I had to trim off their legs to get them to not hang out the back- but you can't tell that from the outside. Happy Rails!
eventho its not train related i hope the moderators give me a pass on this one haha...it was a nice day for the last car show of the season for me. It was down at heisler's diary barn in south tamaqua, a little over 300 cars attended, 9 in my class alone...didnt win anything this year...but after 3 years in a row, i guess its time for someone else to have a turn haha for those that dont know..mine is the white one...

At one time i did put a reed switch in it with a magnet on the tender wheel, didnt like the way it sounded , put it back to normal, the mod was the running lights and a small hole drilled in the smoke unit as to get steam all over the front cylinders. Looks cool at night with the light hitting the steam.
