This is a piece I bought that was re gauged and a running. I had a car just like it when I was a kid but it was just a push car. When I got it I repainted it similar to the post war Lionel inspection car added windows and finished it off with LED’s including the flashing beacon. I added the tires from a 1/24 car I had.  Let’s see your tinplate!

This Märklin restaurant car I found last week. It is a redecorating project based on a Märklin 1 gauge restaurant car from the 42 cm series made in the thirties. The CIWL cars of that series has catalogue number 1846/1. The lettering and  the paint are not original. Also the CIWL emblem is not original; Märklin used printed emblems and this is a brass cast emblem which looks good.
