I am making progress on preparations for the Christmas display layout. I might even get it set up this weekend.
This is one of the trains I plan to have running.

The first ETS set i have bought, excellent quality and even the set box is made of wood, a quality long gone by todays standard. Despite i have not keep many ETS trains in my collection i have always this one.
And in my opinion one of the best looking model they made is the little Crocodile of the Zillertal in Switzerland. This one is three rail and is a great running engine.
Have a nice tinplate weekend, Daniel

Last week at a collectors swapmeet I found a BUB station and a Hornby platform crane.
BUB made this small (15 * 10 * 17 cm) station, which even does not wear Station or Bahnhof lettering, between 1928 and 1935:
Hornby made this platform crane, which was also available with a goods platform, before and after WW2; this version is from 1953:

Picked up another Turnerville Trolley this week. Not as fancy as others I have but all the parts are there.
Turner Toys marketed Turnerville Trolley as early as 1919 and 1920 Marshall Field catalogs and there were two versions.
A short channel track with launch house and a return spring.
And a long channel track with an additional bridge added.
The lever on the station house retracts a spring which, when released, pushed the trolley forward to the other end of the track, where it (should) strike the return spring and come back to the station.
Have been scrounging these for years one or two pieces at a time. I think I have enough together now to make one of each assembly, plus extra cars. Not sure if I should repaint or not.

The deal with our new house fell through three weeks before the closing. The owners pulled the deal. A long complicated story. Anyway, we are renting a home in Pa. for the next six months until we can find another home. So, the trains have to wait a little longer.

Always loved that Gold Mil. set too!! I have always wondered how hard it would be to keep the gold and the chrome sets from showing scratches?
