I posted last week about a pinched wire on my power a unit . I fixed the wire and thought that fixed the problem . After about 3 laps on the layout the rear truck of the power A unit started dragging like a dead leg . I was reading up on this motor and it appears to have a sensor . Can this be the problem and what does it do ?

That's unlikely to be your problem as any issue with the sensor would put the motors at full speed as soon as you cracked the throttle. This sounds like a mechanical issue to me.
So you would rule out electrical problem all together ? Where could I start to check for mechanical issue . Thank you for your help and support it is much appreciated .

Anthony, check closely to see if you threw a traction tire and it caught up near a wheel or gear. If not, then pull the roof hatch and try to turn the rear motor flywheel and verify wheels turn easily. If that works then run loco supported above/adjacent to track with jumper wires and measure the voltage at the rear motor connection. Report back your results.
