In conventional mode . I have both powered A and powered B in sync . It starts out moving in forward fine then after a few seconds the B seem to drop out into neutral . Am a post war guy and not sure if it has an e-unit as post war does ! All I know is it is highly detailed and beautiful in it’s A B B A LASH UP . Any help or thought would be great . It has tmcc and oddessy speed control when not in conventional mode .

Not an expert here, but I don't think any TMCC locomotive has an old-fashioned "E" unit for use when running under conventional control.  My guess (and it's really just a guess) is that your B unit dropping out of TMCC control (not really sure that it could drop in to neutral) might be caused by a TMCC signal loss of some kind.  For starters, try cleaning the loco wheels and the track and see if performance improves.

You will also get better help if you provide the Lionel product number of all the pieces of the ABBA set.
