Just finished painting and weathering a westside PRR Q2. These are beautiful models. I only wanted to share that another piece of 2 rail brass actually got painted, decaled, and weathered. Hopefully it’s an inspiration for someone to get busy on that project they have been wanting to complete... BTW I’m 34 years old too, so yes younger people model as well. Please share pictures of your q2’s!!!

Sweet !!!!
Some of the best weathering I have seen.
It's stunning, both the locomotive and the weathering. Don't see nothing like that over here. Roo.
Superb paint job and very well executed weathering job !
I'm glad the "youth group" is active in the hobby!!
Roo - How about your 4-8-4+4-8-4 Beyer Garretts? Pretty striking looking locomotives !
Nice work Marty. I have a Q2 that I pulled from a junk under the table box. I got it running smoothly. Not sure who made it, it is marked KTM on the bottom. I will get a pics up shortly.
When I used to travel for business there was a trains store/hunting and gun shop in north Platte, NE.
There was one case that contained a Westside UP 844, the Challenger and a Big Boy all in O Scale brass and unpainted. They were not for sale, darn it. I tried every time I was there to buy one. Alas never happened. I wonder if the store is still there. Those models were beautiful.

Well done, Marty!

Awesome! Fantastic weathering
SCD,
Fantastic job, and thanks much for being interested in our Train Hobby. We need more men your age. Spread the word around and have your friends become interested in the hobby also.

Thanks everyone for your kind words on my work, Weathering is what brings a model to life in my opinion,
Dave... I do everything I can to keep people and get people interested in the hobby, There are more "younger" people in the hobby than most think a good 1/3 of our Youngstown Model Railroad club is under 40. I think the best thing for the hobby is to use the forums like this one and share what we do, no matter your skill level or what the few rivet counters, be proud what you did and the silent lookers of these pages will get motivated. That's what use to be on here and what is good for the hobby, the complaining about the ages in the hobby, dying of the hobby, shipping charges, number of rails, etc... is what hurts the hobby. So when I build/paint/modify something I will post here, hopefully some others will follow.
Joe... Yes it is on ebay, I was not attached to the model but simply wanted to show it off a little and maybe inspire someone else to get busy.
Lastly to address some of the private messages I received. Yes I will paint and/or weather your models.
