they already cancelled those postwar inspired missile launchers and that awesome 1997 lion vision camera locomotive that you could share videos taken from your train's point of view across the internet.

Wow....Paigetrain......that's from an old catalog....96 or 97, I think......I had forgotten about that set!

I think Lionel cancelled that particular engine in favor of the SP Dash 9 that was cataloged the following year. And yes, that is from the 1996 Signature catalog.
Cancelling certain products happens a lot more than you'd think, but it's not the end of the world. The postwar lift bridge was cancelled, but was eventually made in 1991, and I highly doubt the new Lionel BTO items are going to get cancelled right now.
No big loss...... there's so much available to have today....... some of you should have been around in the1970-80s when there was next to nothing.....
