Small oval track with 1 power feed,  ran the feed to the TIU into Fixed Out 1, Power from Brick goes into Fixed In 1.

I have power on the tracks, as the engine sounds start up.

I turn the Remote on to scroll the power on to the track, but it locks up, I can give it a few seconds, and then it clears and i try to add a engine and it sticks in the engine adding menu.

Has to be something easy I am missing.???

Some questions:

  • What version of DCS are you using?
  • Has this DCS ever worked before?
  • Is the red LED inside the TIU (front left corner when the TIU is positioned  with its serial port on the left) lighted?
  • Are you able to add and control a different DCS engine? (I expect that you cannot.)
  • Have you tried connecting the TIU's Remote Input port (to the right of the serial port) to the base of the remote, using a  (curly) 4- conductor telephone handset cable, and then ate, mpting t0 add an engine?

You may want to go  back a step further.... Lets find out if the remote and tiu are talking to each other, Press the "read" bottom left on the remote.... you should get a message tiu #1 found

Fixed 1 & 2 are straight through connections with the dcs signal  imposed on it   so you really don't scroll up the power.

What's the 'read" say?
