I've ordered two sound cars and a es44 UP Engine to match up with a unit I got from Leaping Larry.  With all the issues I have had with Lionel I still like theme and will give them another try. They have been real good about fixing problems with some recent models which are quality issues as well as shipping damage . I will see how it goes,

Didn't place yet, but the items that stick in my mind that will likely be in the final order:

  • Looney Tunes Boxcars (3)
  • Looney Tunes Pepe and Penelope Chase Gondola
  • Comment: it's a shame they only offered the Coyote/Roadrunner Aquarium car in S-Gauge, I would have ordered one of those for sure!
  • Disney Steam Engine
  • Christmas Boxcar

Then the "maybes"

  • Promontory Set
  • Possibly one of the Nassau Hobby special run C-420s (unless I decide I like the regular catalog one better - not sure yet)

I ordered Mr. Muffins custom run Nickel Plate GP-35 #910 and his custom run Hudson #5415.  I also ordered Pat's Trains custom Hudson #5416.

I have ordered the add-on UP Excursion and Challenger 21" passenger cars. The Santa Fe cars were also ordered.  I cut back on the NS and CP cars due to quality issues I am finding in the new Lionel I have just received and had to return.  I have returned five engines in the last two months and cancelled two more GP9 engine orders.

Sincerely, John Rowlen

The 5405 J3a Hudson is ordered, and I'm still on the fence about the NYC Fa-2 with the superbass B. I have until Wednesday.

I do not understand how the superbass B is almost the same price as the powered B. Must be one heck of a speaker...

True lol! I just have absolutely no need for a 3rd powered unit since both A's are powered. Actually, one powered A in the pair would be enough to drag 15 reefers around my layout.

If they do it right, that Alco sound should be really good out of a bigger speaker.

If it’s like the previous F3 run, you’ll be happy.

Went completely traditional this time...

U.S. Army LC set, Scooby Doo LC set, Scooby Doo sound boxcar, and (2) Spy vs. Spy operating cars,

I will wait until the "Gold Bonnet" and UP fantasy scheme engines arrive, then examine, then decide.

On the Army set, did you notice that the mint car was labeled "Fort Knox  Tenn"?    Someone needs a geography lesson.

I did see, like many others, the Fort Knox "Tenn" error. For fun, after this set arrives, I was thinking of kit bashing the mint car to reflect Lionel's miscue. I will be adding the TCA Manhattan mint car and the METCA Brooklyn Naval Yard 6464 to this consist.

I ordered an ES44AC BNSF Diesel Locomotive, a Summit View Vistadome StationSounds Car, a Sante Fe Vistadome StationSounds Car, MKT with camera Caboose, some box cars with sounds, and a flat car with Sherman tank load, Hopefully all will come in scattered throughout the year.....The 2019 Catalog is a really big book, I hope Lionel does well. Good Question, Great Thread. Happy Railroading
