In reading reply to posts, I see there is a "Permalink" icon in the corner, what's this for?
Replies sorted oldest to newest
Anyone have any idea what it's for?
Anyone have any idea what it's for?
It provides a hyperlink to the specific post that it is attached to.
Examples:
Here is a link to the start of a topic.
Here is a link to a specific post within that topic.
(I didn't do it for this thread, as it's more useful when there are enough posts that you need to scroll to see all the posts)

Dave,
So, if I understand you correctly, the permalink allows you to go directly to a specific response?
If so, after I click on the "permalink" icon, how do I use it later?
How do I go directly to that "permalinked" post two days later?
I guess I'm asking where do these "permalinked" links reside for me to access them?
On the old forum, we all had a "favorites". If we read a post, and liked it, and wanted to refer back to it, say.......6 months later, we could, it would be in our "favorites" list.
Does this "permalink" somehow mimic the old "favorites"?
Thanks dave
