No-one collects beer cans anymore huh?...no, I don't mean a good BS session with friends nite...I mean the old can collection that I saw alot of folks doing long ago.

What has been posted here that would be of interest to the NSA?
On my desktop and here are a few pix of some hobby stuff.
A few of my favorite slot cars.
Car stuff. Joe, I bought a 65 Chevelle SS in 1969, it was a white 327, 4 spd. Thru all the Vettes, antiques and hotrods I have built I always wanted another Chevelle, I bought the current car 5 years ago, replaced most sheetmetal and all mechanicals, added, discs and power steering, and enjoy every minute of driving it, it has a later 396 with a 4 spd.

Actually, there's one back there somewhere.
Nice rides Matt.
I have a small collection of original American Civil War artifacts, but not necessarily a collection of small American Civil War artifacts.
I cannot call myself a collector. To the contrary, I like things I can operate and enjoy. Besides toy trains, I have two 1931 Model A Ford cars, a 2011 Mustang GT, guns for target shooting and hunting, and several fishing rods that are always in the trunk ready for action around Long Island. But the best of all are my 8 grandchildren, 5 boys for rough housing and 3 girls for snuggling.

I was gonna say, the DMV can trace cars, FOid can trace guns{registered ones} and BB sees what's sitting in my yard via satellite....it's not like we leaving our stills out in the open for the revenuer man to see.

Paranoia strikes deep in the heartland
But I think it's all overdone

I collect ammo for my evil AR15.
I've got an old paintball marker{gun} and a high pressure tank...if the house alarm doesn't catch them when I'm gone, I will when I'm home- and they'll wish they weren't there...shocker SF..."SF" actually means sellect fire and will empty a 200 round hopper out in about a minute to minute and a half.
In the spring, summer and fall I fly rc planes and helicoptors, also sail rc scale boats. Amateur radio operator for almost forty years. That's enough.
I happen to collect H.O. model race cars, mainly Aroura H.O. from about 1965 on up.
Only like the D.C version of H.O. race cars from Aroura, the ThunderJet 500's, and the AFX. Have a few Tyco race cars, even a Tyco 440-X.
Have one other model race car, in 1/32 scale, a Plymouth Super Bird, the 1970 Daytona style Roadrunner with extended nose cone and very high rear spoiler(similar to the 1969 Dodge Daytona Charger), never ran it. If I could ever afford it, I would have a 1970 Plymouth Super Bird in my driveway. Used to own a 1973 Roadrunner with a 340 V-8 and 600 cfm 4 barrel carb, city mileage was 4.9 MPG and that was staying out of the 4 barrel carb pretty much. Let's just say rear tires didn't last long, highway MPG was around 14.
But now I have an econo box, a 2007 Corolla with a 4 cylinder and automatic trans, highway 42.5 MPG.
Lee Fritz
Lee, I have one of the Superbirds, it is the purple Ray Nichols #99 driven by Chargin' Charlie Glotzbach. Charlie is from this area and his younger brother is one of my best friends. I am not big on autographs, but Charlie comes to a lot of the car cruises I go to and I should take this car and let him sign it sometime.
Live music performance recordings were mentioned in an above post, I have a bit of that, too. Mostly Allman Brothers Band from the Duane era, but also lots of Clapton, early Skynyrd, I don't remember what all I have, it is on cassette. Getting into music collecting, I also got to know some people working with the ABB and I have a hundred or more videos of their live perfromances. Sadly only 35 minutes with Duane at Fillmore East, but lots of stuff from 88 up. Some Clapton, Eagles, Hendrix and on and on. What do you do with 200 vhs tapes that most people could care less about? I've copies some faves to dvd, but mostly everything is vhs format.
Besides trains, I collect Studebakers (7 of them) have two Ramblers (one Nash and one Hudson) and one Buick. I repair/rebuild/convert old car radios for car collectors, I have a collection of wooden cathedral radios and round screen televisions, plus I sing acappella barbershop and doo wop.
Well rounded! Any straight 8s or flathead 6s? After I bought my car I started liking swing music- go figure.
Can I send you an pm about radio repairs?...model 800 mopar...
A bunch of flat head sixes and OHV V-8's.
Send me an email, please. My address is in my profile.

I also collect coins and to go with them I have a Colt 32 semi auto & Colt 22 Huntsman to protect the collection.
One more passion I have is buying and selling Corvettes. I have a 2003 Z-06 that money can not buy. I also going to Patriots Football games. I also enjoy giving Ted Bertiger a lot of crap over his JETS.
I don't really collect anything. I wouldn't even call my trains a "collection" since I like to run 'em. But I've got lots of hobbies...too many according to my wife. As my byline says, I'm a private pilot and a golfer (8 handicap). I also enjoy amateur astronomy having made my own 6" Newtonian reflector on a Dobsonian mount (other ATM's will know what that means) and own a Celestron C8 with a computerized Nextstar mount.
And oh yeah, I almost forgot, a few years ago I got inspired by Lance Armstrong (before I knew about the drugs) and bought a nice bike and ride 60-80 miles a week (except in winter).
I have a collection of organ pipes. They are in the 11 rank pipe organ I installed in our home. I have found that many of the people I have met in the pipe organ hobby/ business are also involved in trains.

Does work count ?
Seems like a hobby
Interesting to me that so many people involved with trains are also into cars...reminds
me of when I was flipping through a car magazine some years ago....forget what cars
were shown, but remember that it was near Cleveland, Ohio, and what got my attention
in the garage were the stacks of boxed Marx sets against the wall...no other info was
given...
My other vice? I collect prewar carbide railroad lanterns. Half the fun is the hunt.
My 2003 Mach 1 Mustang with about 22,000 miles on it. LOCOMOTION
I'm a golfer so you could say I'm an anti-collector of golf balls. Can never seem to hold on to one for too long...
I am also a music lover, so I have a collection of over 1500 CDs. I have a collection of vintage Heathkit hifi equipment mostly from the 70's which I also repair or attempt to. Several of those Heathkits I also built. I have a collection of 70's early 80's JBL speaker systems containing 3 different L series models. These collections don't get added to very often as my main intrest now is trains.
