Curious, those of you who still use MTH Realtrax, or ones that used to use it....what modifications you made to improve switch function. I have too much invested in this track to shuck it! I am having issue with some locos derailing over even 054 switches. Thanks in advance.

No mods made but just a suggestion.
Do you power the switches with a separate power source than the track power?
If not, do so and apply 18- 19 volts to the switches.
Have run mine fir 19 years no with no major issues at all. Joe
Do an advanced search of the forum, Member Bobby Ogauge has done mods that really work well. He has pictures posted. I have the pics but they're his pics.....
All switches are powered by 14 volt accessory post of a Z1000. All switches operate just fine using TIU-AIU and dcs app. The issues I have are mainly due to wheels hopping at points on the switch. I have done some dremel work and that seems to help somewhat but not totally.
Replaced it with something better?
Pete, Not finding that post. Could you provide a link to Bobby's work around? Thank you. TT

Your best bet is to replace those plastic frogs and guides for the wheels with new ones. They are available from MTH parts/sales. Enter realtrack switch and search from there. They do work.
