I am in the camp of all of them cheer me up. I will note that any that don't run properly used to frustrate me. Now I have enough engines I can put one on the rip track and forget about it until I have the motivation to look into the issue. Right now this train cheers me up because I have dreamed of setting up a steam powered train that is double headed and has a pusher. Success!

I agree, Jim, but some put a bigger smile on my face.
And, thanks to those who have expressed your appreciation for this thread. One of my goals is to entertain you folks with something train-related. Arnold

Mark, your trains are running beautifully on the masterpiece of a layout you are building. It looks like a very interesting, multiple level, layout.
Maybe like the Pennsylvania RR in the big world of real trains, your layout will be known as "The Standard" in the little world of O Gauge trains.

Thank you, Arnold. I think my background in HO from a boy until 10 years ago influenced my liking differently from folks who grew up with postwar Lionel trains.
My happiness in trains comes from picking up a box of old trains that were once someone’s childhood of playing trains. Picked this at an estate sale recently dirty with a few broken parts. It’s fun to see what they had troubles with like wired up couplers, those snap in truck pivots, and most of all over lubrication.
A surprise to me was the Marx windup loco had a battery powered headlight very cool! The 520 set runs like a champ now. Great to see them operate again after years waiting.

Back in my "hunt and restore" days (early seventies), I came across a nice 2056 in a dusty suitcase. After a thorough cleaning and tender restoration, it became my favorite loco for several years!
