i would like to see a killer PRR full scale N5C caboose with the same detail as a brass version with sounds. This would match the cc-2 and more

a scale round roof box car with a hobo sitting at the open door playing a mouth organ. the car would have sound.

these are two of my choices. what about yours.

passenger and fright. lets hear it.

many thanks

I just got one of the legacy cattle cars, and I'd love to see some more of these. They cataloged the Pig Palace, but then cancelled it, maybe they'll recatalog it at some point. A chicken car or something would also be a hoot.

I do also like the freight car sounds built into it, just those, built into some cars would be a nice too (like the ethanol cars).

Perhaps a boxcar with some loading and unloading sounds (forklift, foreman yelling, etc...).

Passenger cars with animation would also be cool. For example, a conductor going up the aisle, "Tickets Please".

Time to re-do the RailScope idea again.  This time with a few changes tho:

Put the camera in a dummy locomotive or inside the dome of a passenger car or in the top of a caboose to get a conductor's view.  Now we can also have audio.

Send the video back to a receiver on the layout using wifi or something similar, not through the track.

The wireless camera technology is there and the size is available.

I think everything listed so far would be great!  As Mary posted, I would like to use the Accessory button on my Legacy remote more.  I want to interact more with my layout.  It would be cool if a Vision Line car would interact with a building with animated figures loading or unloading with the corresponding sounds.  Or drop a box car on the RIP track with a crew that would get to work on it.  I belive there is an animated fastrack section with a work gang already.  BUT, I would have the RIP crew on a platform so that those not using Fastrack would buy it too.

I like the idea of a Vision Line passenger car with animated figures moving about the car.  The soundstation dining cars is one of my favorites!

I also like the low rumbling sound that real trains make as they roll by.  It would be great for a string of box cars to have speakers that with enough bass to recreate that.  While I am wishing for multiple box cars equipped with speakers, I really think it would be cool to hear the slack pulled out of the couplers sequentially down a line of box cars.  Same is true for a train coming to a stop!  Every other car could have a speaker to create this effect.

Tank train car with ambiant yard sounds during fill up and the stereo brakes etc..

Better yet, a tank-fill accessory with sound. Somebody made a tank-fill station a while back, maybe MTH, but I don't think it had sound. It would be a lot easier to put a sound unit in a trackside accessory than in a tank car.

Passenger car with conductor leans out and yells all aboard and retracts when train pulls out.

Great idea. Build the conductor into the StationSounds diner.

Dance hall should be easy enough with music and dancing people.

Another good one. Build in a connection for an MP3 player so the customer can add his own favorite music. I'd go for Asleep at the Wheel or Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys - real dance-hall stuff. Have the dancers in hats and boots.

car on the track at crossing .Escapes at the last minute

Horrible idea. Just what we need, teach little kids that racing the train at a crossing is cool.

Regarding StationSounds cars...  These were already pretty pricey, but I'd like to see a diner with all sorts of fancy, detailed interiors.

There's a fellow in the Orange Hall who customizes diner interiors with flickering candles on the tables -- VERY cool effect that would be a natural enhancement to the StationSounds diners... worthy of the Vision Line branding.

1. I would like to see a fully functional water scoop on the tender.  Have it so the scoop drops down and when it goes over a specially designed fast track section, smoke shoots out the sides of the fast track to simulate the spray of water as the water scoop takes on water for the tender.

2. Have a tender whose coal pile lowers in the tender to simulate the use of coal as it runs around the layout.  Bring it over to a new coal accessory which cause the coal pile to raise back up to simulate the coal being filled in the tender.

Since this would be Vision Line, I would like to see scale operating RPO cars.

Scale RPO cars would include roughly 60 foot both heavyweight and streamlined and 72 foot cars which would translate to 15" and 18" cars that could be used with all passenger cars be they 15" or 20".  American Flyer had them in the 50's.

This is a 15+ inch (63') Pullman-Standard streamlined RPO.  It would be nice to have mail operations for passenger trains.

I'd also like Lionel to make scale passenger cars equivalent in detail to those offered by Atlas.  Perhaps Lionel could look to Walthers to get an idea how they have used their passenger car molds to approximate many railroads.

AF had on in the PW era, right?

I also support the idea of Vision Station Sounds diners but I can't see that moving passenger/conductor figures are a real possibility.

What I'd prefer anyway is improved lighting especially on or over dining tables, other interior details such as accurate seating, flooring and full details behind any bar (!) and improved sound sequences. The Acela passenger cars have great interiors, which proves that Lionel can do this sort of thing when they want to.

Someone mentions automatic sound sequences above but I think that even under Legacy you have to trigger most of the diner announcements manually.

Oh, and passenger car windows that do not develop a crackle or frosted effect, which spoils so many of Lionel's aluminum passenger car offerings, including some where they used K-Line dies (like the Texas Special).

How about the freight terminal that the conveyor moves so that the end of the conveyor can go into a box car & a operating box car, but instead of the man coming out of the box car door use the man that is in the poultry car and have that man with a box in his hands instead of the broom.
