I purchased the shell at a train show that had a Lionel "SW" cab glued to a "GEEP" long hood.  I installed the shell onto a K-line MP-15 frame. I call "it" a SWEEP for a SW cab and Geep hood.  BUT

it could be a

"MPEEP"  MP frame and Geep hood

"EEEP"    All EMD parts cab, frame and long hood

What would you call it?????

Hey wow, I didn't know there was a real BEEP. Thanx for the info, Rusty. One-of-a-kind Santa Fe rebuild, GP7 equipment on a Baldwin frame. Originally #2450, renumbered to 1160 then 1460.

Maybe it should be a "B-BEEP" because of the B-B wheel arrangement, cuz the RMT Beeps are just a two-axle "B" wheel arrangement.

"Official name SWBLW (SWitcher, Baldwin Locomotive Works)" - does that make it a SWIBAL ?

Well, since the RMT jobs are missing a couple axles, compared to the prototype, maybe they should be the ones renamed:

EEP - an incomplete BEEP, or

APE - a BEEP, but with an A-A wheel arrangement!

Very nice. The ATSF 'Beep' is one of my favorite locomotives.

What shell did you steal the cab from? I have been tossing the idea of building one around for the past 5 or so years. The K-Line and Lionel EMD switcher cabs don't have a straight cab end, they have a sand bunker (whatever it is)

I may just end up buying a Weaver or MTH VO1000 and grafting one of my spare Red Caboose GP9 hoods on to it, like the prototype. Because the Weaver and MTH model share the same truck blocks I can swap truck sideframes with EMD Blomburgs.

Here is a very good article on the 'Beep'
