I really wish Lionel would bring these back, they sounded great! But does anyone know why Lionel no longer uses them in their legacy engines?

I think in the new catalog there are several locomotives listed with Fat boy speakers. The scale berks are listed with 2 fat boy speakers.
Check out the link to the product page. Click on features and scroll down to see 2 fat boy speakers listed.
The vision line PFE 3 pack with a freight sounds reefer says it will have a fat boy speaker as well.
Why would you think the fat boys have gone away?

I had the same thought.
As far as I know the Fatboy is still the standard Lionel speaker, space permitting.
It comes in 50 mm size, as well as 40 mm baby Fatboy size.

Haven't the fat boy speakers been upgraded? Seems they have a polypropylene cone on them now with a mating housing. Maybe there is a new name for them.

The only ones I could find were the 40mm 8 and 16 ohm speakers. I know that the original M1a had the 50mm ones but Lionel does not have any parts listing for this engine that shows speakers being available.
I would guess that Lionel has reduced their SKU's by just using one size speaker.
They have both 8 and 16 ohm speakers in stock.

Well for a while, I didn't recall seeing any legacy engines with fatboys so I assumed they quit using them, but I guess I was wrong, ha!
While we're here talking about the fatboys, would it be possible to install the fatboy speakers from 6-11151 into 6-11260?
By the way, the speakers in 6-11260 are baby fatboys, so I was wanting to try to install full size fatboys.
