I am running conventional O/std and Ps3 std and would like to run routes. Current power comes from Gw180 and postwar 275w Zw and the z500 . I have lionel GN rail sounds set 6-31799 and one williams loco with tur blast and a boxcar with diesel rail sounds other than the Ps3 std. What would be the better to run routes tmcc/legacy or dcs. Current switches are o27, O22 , fastrack non command and realtrax. And what other equipment would I need for just controlling switches. Like lionel sc-2 or asc2. I don't think I will be getting anymore tmcc or legacy locos. And are there curtain switches that work better with either system ross lionel or mth. Thxs for any help

For tmcc/legacy, you'd need:

1. the command base and remote

2. A number of the asc-2 or sc-2 control boxes to connect your switches to all command operation and route building. The asc-2 can control 4 switches of any brand. The sc-2 can control 6.

3. Your remote fastrack switches can be upgraded to command via err's package for $25 each. These and any other fastrack command switch require no asc-2 or sc-2 for command operation and route building. Very clean and easywith no wiring.

For Mth, you'd need:

1. Their command base and remote

2. Their version of the sc-2 which is the AIU. It operates up to 10 switches of any brand i believe.

Since you own a ps3 loco and have no plan for legacy locos, that might be the way to go.

The DCS(MTH brand of command control) AIU(accessory interface unit) can also control up to ten accessories as well as switches, and the AIU can be daisy chained for up to five AIU's off of one TIU(track interface unit) for DCS.

However any Williams operating car will need the Williams by Bachmann remote control to operate without an uncoupling track, the Williams operating cars can not be controlled by DCS or Legacy. To control a Williams operating car with a command control system requires upgrading your Williams car to the appropriate command control system.
