Hi group
This question is for the electrical people. I recently replaced my Diodes: 1N1190AR with the Zener type. I would like to use the old Diodes 1N1190AR in a project box to make horn/bell sound. Does anyone have a scheme that I use to make this work. This would be for a 1033 transformer. I would like to recycle the old diodes 1N1190AR for a new project.

Replacing standard diodes with zener diodes has been discussed on several different threads here. Try using the site's internal search function. As I recall, the zener diodes were a bit pricey due to the size required. Still, I might try using one the next time I have a transformer that requires a new rectifier disk.

This last thread is important. Be certain to read the whole thread. According to the thread, when you install a zener diode, the bypass resistor should be disconnected.
There are also some threads confusing zener diodes with conventional rectifer diodes.

Thank you for everyone reply. Can any point me in the right direct to get some Rectifying barrel diodes 6A 200 PRV instead. I looking on getting a few and do not have enough to make worth the time and expense to order from Mouser and others.

Digikey ships small orders First Class Mail for only a couple dollars, they're my "go to" place for small orders. I don't feel back ordering $10 worth of parts from them, as the shipping is almost a non-issue.
