Any local Forum members going to the Charles Ro open house Saturday? Always a great place to catch up and meet members.

I'm thinking about it. Not sure right now.
Plan to go in the morning.
Dave, Charlie is going to have Lionel president Howard Hitchcock and Ryan Kunkle the new project manager of high end locomotives. Maybe between you and I we can convince him to build our New Haven I-5. See announcements section on the forum for full details.
I've got to work Saturday otherwise I would be there.
John, you will be missed.
Marty, I would love to go to these events that pop up every so often. I'm physically handicapped (cancer) to make this type of trip. All I can do is catch bits and pieces from the Forum folks. Enjoy your time there Marty!
Marty, plenty of NH fans in the northeast. The diesels and electrics always sell well. Weaver has done 2 steamers. Both sold well. The I5 even had a second run. A Legacy version with whistle steam, a quill able steamboat whistle, and the Lionel name. Wouldn't be a home run. It'd be a grand slam.
I sure wish I lived closer....Charles Ro is on my bucket list to see some day. I cannot imagine what it looks like.
Hope you all have fun with this event and please post any new info that you might get that the folks back here in the Midwest do not know about.
Roger...lets you and I make another trip east!! I am ready buddy!! I would love to attend this event....AND....Marty, I sure hope you can convince Lionel to make the I-5 because it certainly would be one that I would have to add to the stable!
Alan
Roger and Alan here would be fantastic.
I just love that place
It's a 6 hour drive for me ... wish I could go.
Linda and I will be there Marty.
I'm going to the northern chapter TCA meet on Saturday in Rochester, NH All the tables are sold out.
Paul, thank you. Best wishes.
I'm not working this weekend. BUT. There is always a but. I also want to go the show in Rochester, NH. Since it is a combined NETCA and the Maine 3 Railers club show. However, my son's PeeWee hockey game is where I will be on Sat.
I tried..... she won't go when winter hits. A lot of stuff going on right now over that way. Would have loved to stop at the NJHR's too. Hope you all have a great time.
Could you ask if they have any spare G scale SD70MAC shells?? I want to modify one with a new flared rad grille area.
They said they put my name on a list but others have gotten some since and I never heard back.
I've got to work the whole weekend. Will miss seeing you and meeting some of the Forum guys.

Yeah, sometimes this thing called "life" gets in the way of your hobby for those of you that are married, have kids and a job.
I have never been to Charles Ro's, but I wish, I were able to go, but due to low finances and long distances, make it difficult.
Charles Ro has been very kind and fair with me during the times I had purchased train items from him and he was able to obtain another item for me, which he advertised as being in stock, but was actually out of stock, at the time I asked for it.
Mr. Ro was very apologetic of the mix-up.

I grew up the next town over, but now I live in CT. I am back that way about twice a month, but unfortunately i'll be traveling to NJ this weekend for a fraternal event. I haven't been there in quite sometime, finances were budgeted as a teenager, so i focused my spending on old used stuff i could fix up myself, and then the trains went into boxes when i left for college. anyway, growing up it seemed like i was there once a month. I remember going to a k-line open house and one of the k-line guys was hitting on my mother; it was weird, but he gave me his k-line employee's hat and I got a call a few days later saying I had won a K-line Mikado (a $500+ engine at the time), still a funny story my family likes to tell.
As far as the store goes, next time i'm in town I should drop by for old time's sake. I did have some bad experiences of some people being rude to me there, but maybe now since i'm an adult it'll be different.
Elizabeth and I will be there as well. Look forward to seeing Marty & Dotty, Chris & Linda, and Dave C. who I don't think we have met.
I would love to go but this Saturday is the NETCA Northern Divisions train show at the American Legion Hall in Rochester NH.
I along with about 80 table holders are hoping that we see some of the people who are going to the open house at our show maybe on their way down or back.
The show opens at 9 00Am to 3 00 PM

PTC aka Brian,
Since you are my good friend, the least you can do is buy me an (expensive) Lionel Legacy steam engine with whistle steam while you are Ro's open house, with set of passenger cars to match. Consider it a Christmas gift to me. Marty can tell you what I like.
If you don't buy me what I want, I may have to sue
Your friend that will be waiting for his Christmas gift,
Erol
Hoping to attend and trying to get Saturday day shift off!
I wish I lived closer and could make it. It sounds like a wonderful event. Best wishes to all my fellow forumites who will be in attendance!

Marty,
Would love to meet up with you but I can't attend. Been to many in the past and CharlesRo is a great store.
Maybe the next time I go to Dave_C house we meet up then.
Hoping to attend and trying to get Saturday day shift off!
Frank, love the avatar!!

I have an agreement with Santa (I think legally binding) that all gift recipients must be cleared thorough his "special list". I will be sure to check with him about your request.
Erol is easy to buy for.
Going to NETCA show in Rochester then down to Charlie RO. I wish the new NKP Berkshire would be there to pick up, guess I'll have to wait patiently a little longer for it.

Brian. Don't worry about it. I have it covered and I think Erol will love it! It should be no problem running on 0-31 curves. Merry Christmas buddy!
Thanks Chris, you sure are a buddy. We can cover his Legacy request by just adding the wording to the ornament.
My wife and I plan attend.
Chris and Jane Cook
Chris,
Okay, your Hallmark ornament joke was funny. My way of thanking you will be to send Mike Taylor (3rd Rail Mike) to come and visit you since you are the best of friends. I may even pay to have Scrapiron come to your house. How do you like that wiseguy?
Chris and Brian, have a great Thanksgiving if I don't speak to you.
Erol
Going to NETCA show in Rochester then down to Charlie RO.
I wasn't planning to attend either as they're a bit too far, but the plan quoted above may seal the deal. I.e., hit NETCA first thing, and then swing wide to Ro on the return trip.
Marty F: When are Howard Hitchcock and Ryan Kunkle scheduled to appear? For that matter, when will you be there (I'm assuming not all day)?

Any hints about O-Gauge "specials"?
