This locomotive was included in an "original" set that I acquired today from the daughter of its 93 year old original owner. The set seems to consist of Ives items produced by Lionel (the Lionel Junior style transformer station, Ives marked tender, 2x 1690 and 1691 passenger cars). The locomotive however doesn't seem to match up. It's obviously been redecorated by its owner, however I can't seem to figure out what it was. The stamped boiler front has provisions for a headlight bulb to be screwed in. It also has a reversing switch (presumably) in the cab.

What is it?
