Who was the man that was a disney creator and had a huge vintage train collection. Had stuff from 1800's to present. He always had round black frame glasses on. I think he lived in cali and had a real railroad in his yard He died a few years ago.

Truly one of the greatest ambassadors for the hobby to ever grace the planet. A character as colorful as the characters he created for Disney.
Plenty of Ward stuff on YouTube.....

Back when I first started going to York, Ward Kimball was at York a few times. I got to talk to him for a few minutes in the Red hall.
Most if not all of Mr.Kimball' s Grizzly Flats Locomotives and rolling stock was donated and installed at the Orange Empire Rail Museum located in Perris Ca.
Those forumites not local can see some of this equipment in the book "Walt Disney's Railroad Story" by Michael Broggie. To see it in person is quite remarkable though.
Also Mr. Kimball would make rare appearances at the old Pasadena T.T.O.S. Cal-Stewart meets,he was always friendly, always open to talk, an all around great person
