There are many things I love about this forum, but among them are the suggestions people make - there are a lot of creative people here and they have so many good ideas.  Yesterday is a great example.  I had spent the afternoon turning a tiny eyesore of an odd corner of my layout into a parking lot.  I posted pictures on the Scenery and Structures forum, and I observed it didn't quite work - I could only get six cars parked normally on the site and that was hardly realistic enough.   Joe Hohmann suggested only a short time later that I change it to a used car lot because cars there are really crammed in close together and I could get more.  And, I thought, some car lots are very tiny.  It was the perfect idea!  No need to replay the details here, if anyone wants to see, its on the Scenery forum:

Again, a big thank you to Joe.

I thoroughly agree Lee.  There are so many helpful people here in this forum. Many of these will often put themselves out to help others, and to offer advice. I don't think that we could ask for a better group of people. May I please add my thanks to everyone for all the help, guidance and friendship that I have received since I joined?

Lee, I'll have to show this to my wife. Today is our 46th wedding aniversary, and she rarely takes my suggestions .

I like a good BS story to justify some of our illogical model railroad details. For example, my 246 steamer doesn't have side rods because it is actually a   2-2-2-2 three-cylinder Teutonic compound. The inner low pressure cylinder (not visible) powers the front drivers, a design that was used on some English steam locos in the late 1800's.
