Hey Forumites, this is twice in 1 day for me with problems. My DCS Wi-Fi won't connect to the network. I haven't run trains thru it for about 6 months but I don't think that's the problem, however it's connected to my TIU and it's plugged into an outlet so it's powered on. What I found strange is it's that the LAN light is on and I haven't turned on track power. On the DCS app it won't find the WIU at all. I made an attempt utilizing the reset port, but nothing happened there either. What am I doing wrong ??

Can you tell your device to only connect to the MTH WIFI?
Does it list it under your WIFI settings on your device?
Engineer Joe, I'm not sure which device you're speaking of but the Wi-Fi is slotted for the MTH network and on my iPad settings page the wifi network name doesn't appear at all.
Yes the IOS device. That I don't understand?
There are 3 lights on mine that must be lit to work.
The power, TIU, and the WIFI.
I just powered up mine and the LAN light starts on and after several seconds went out. The power light stays on. WIFI light came on, and finally the TIU light when I turned it on.
That's exactly what I remember, however on my unit, the power and the LAN go on, but the LAN never goes off and the TIU and the Wifi lights don't go on at all. In my attempt at the reset button, nothing happens there at all.
Sounds like the WIFI unit isn't right. I don't know what else to do?
I'm starting to get the same impression. The TIU sends signal to the track, and power is going to the WIU; I just can't get it to send out signal to the ipad either thru the MTH network or the Home Network. Guess I'll have to purchase a new WIU if I can't figure this out. Thanks Engineer Joe for your help. I'll get it done !!
Send it or talk to GGG?
Check the MTH vs home network switch, perhaps it got changed ?
Sending it or talking with GGG is an option, and after the unit failed to send out a signal I toggled the MTH/Home switch several times without results. I will figure it out or get results one way or another, this is just 1 step back - I will move forward. Thanks guys for your help, I appreciate it. - Marshelangelo
Hi did you try what the pdf file that came with your WIU came with and trouble shoot with that! also make sure your connections are fully plugged in !
50as13515i.pdf (mthtrains.com)
50-1034 | MTH ELECTRIC TRAINS (mthtrains.com)
watch the video when you bring up the 50-1034 and a video will walk you through the setup, hope this helps you figure it out!
have you had any voltage transients you might have had any voltage transients spikes the WIU and could have damaged it !
Alan
I went thru the steps that the pdf provided, I don't know what is the problem, I'm going to try to correct the situation again, if not I'll probably buy another WIU and send the bad one out for repair. I haven't had any voltage spikes that I know of, all of my equipment is surge protected, even so the surge would have to go thru my TIU to get to the WIU to do damage. My TIU is working fine, everything is working except for the WIU. Just another challenge that has to be resolved !! Anyway, thanks Alan for helping out. - MARSHELANGELO
