I was reading some other posts where people were having trouble loading engines in the app off the active list. I bought a new WIU and TIU for use with my future layout. I set up a test track just to play around with the app, and couldn't get the engine to load. I tried on my google tablet and iPhone 6, it shows no inactive engines (since this is the first time I'm using its expected) but when I go to add engines it says refreshing for a few seconds and then nothing. Has there been a fix for this or is this still waiting for an update? I also noticed when I cycled on power to the TIU, sometimes the engine (PS2 subway ) would go into convential mode, could this be an issue with the TIU DCS signal?

I also noticed that when I hook up the track to Varible 1 there is no power. Is there anyway to change the output on the variable side of the TIU without a remote, just a PC or the App?? I did not buy a remote as I specifically bought the system to use on my phone and didn't want to spend $150+ on something I wasn't going to use, kinda disappointing if I have to wait for the premium version to come out now after already buying everything plus a $5 app.

Odds are that your app is version 1.1 and the WIU's firmware is 1.0. This will create problems relating to the issues that you're experiencing. You must upgrade the WIU's firmware to version 1.1.

No, not until the Premium version of the app arrives, later this year. Until then, you'll need a DCS Remote to either assign TIU Tracks to the variable channels or to place them into fixed mode.

DCS Book CoverThis and a whole lot more is all in “The DCS Companion 3rd Edition!"

This book is available from many fine OGR advertisers and forum sponsors, or as an eBook or a printed book at OGR’s web store!

WIU was updated to 1.1 and TIU is running 5.0 prior to setting them up.

Am I correct in my assumption that if the PS2 engine started up in convential mode a few times while powering up the Z4000 (with the TIU plugged into the WIU and powered up already) that there could be an issue with the TIU DCS signal? Is there anyway to check that without a remote?

I also guess for a side question, is the USB port supply sufficient enough power to the TIU, as it is when programming it, to put out a DCS signal when operating trains?

No, it is not. If that's how you were powering your TIU and you were not using fixed channel #1 for the track, that could account for the problem with the engines.
