Hello Trainmen,I hope today finds you all in good health and spirits!!!

I have a chance to buy a "MINT" "DM&I Yellowstone Shell, along with it's tender shell, both are in mint condition.

My question is:  Will the Yellowstone Shell fit on my PS1 Big Boy Chassis??,I'm thinking since the two engines are similar in size, will the Yellowstone Shell be able to be "adapted" to fit on the Big Boy chassis??

I'm pretty sure the tender shell will fit on the Big Boy tender,I just have a little doubt that the Yellowstone engine shell may not fit.I realize that the screws might not lineup, but the more I look at it,maybe they will.

Has anyone ever compared the two shells side by side???

I ask this question because the "MINT" Yellowstone shells are not a Bargain, and I thought I would seek some advice here, before I commit myself to purchasing them.

This, like most of my questions,is another oddball inquiry, but I pride myself on trying to do what cannot be done.-Cause sometimes it WORKS!!!!!

Have had my PS1 BB apart several times for upgrades, smoke, etc.  It is a very close fit with it's own shell to lower frame.  Have looked at, but not owned a Yellowstone.  Really doubt the two would line up and fit for proper running.  MTH was not known for mass producing scale engines and simply changing cosmetics to "look" like a different type engine.

Thank You Everyone!!!  I sincerely thank you all for the advice. If anyone else is in need of a MINT Yellowstone Engine Shell and Tender Shell, complete with the lighting,I can pick it up for you for $175.00 for both.

I told you it wasn't cheap, but when is the last time you even saw a Yelllowstone shell for sale period???

This is  MINT from the factory, which is why I was getting that "Maybe I can use it someday" felling about them. I still might pick it up and do a mod of somekind with it,but that seems kind stupid to ruin a MINT shell to make a TRAIN ROD!!!!

Stuff 3 big Pittmans in it,5 smoke units,Repaint it with Lacquer Candy Apple Red,(with big flakes),A Six pack ,(always) hey wait...that 6 pack is what made me think of doing this in the first place!!!!!!

But seriously, thanks to everyone for your input. You just saved me $175.00

Thank you-Kenny
