Does anyone know if Williams ever produced a set of 15" streamlined Wabash passenger cars-like the Lionel 15" cars but with a blue letter board and different names on the cars? I saw two cars on the Bay and am wondering if that was a part of a real set or a custom paint job.

Hi Dick,
Checked out my 2009 Williams catalogue. They had 28 different road names on the 15 inch aluminum Luxury Liner cars, but NO Wabash.
I use the MTH 15 inch RailKing Wabash streamlined coaches and like them very much.

The Wabash 15" aluminum cars appear in the Golden Memories section of the 2007 Williams catalog (pre-WBB). These include a set of four (#LL1040), with a baggage car, a "Moberly" vista-dome car, a "Logansport" pullman car, and a "Brunswick" observation car, as well as a set of two (LL1040AO), with a "Montpelier" pullman car and a "Keokuk" diner car. I believe these appeared in earlier catalogs and brochures as well, so they are out there.
Thanks, guys. Somehow I missed them when they were new. I guess I'll start haunting the sites looking for them.
Dick,
I bought the four car set here on the forum a couple of years ago. Reluctantly, I paid about $200 which is more than other road names. They weren't real easy to find but with some patience, you probably can find them for a little better price. I still need to find the two car add on set.
Good luck,
Hi guys,
So much for my research capabilities. I actually looked in the 2007 catalogue and completely missed the Wabash (featured on the same page as the Illinois Central). If you compare the Williams with MTH's RailKing 15 inchers I think you'll find that MTH's corresponds much more closely with the prototype. On the other hand, aluminum is very nice, which is why I'm looking for the Lionel Texas Special cars to replace my MTH
RailKing Texas Special.
