I was going through moving boxes (again) and found an old Williams flyer for GG1 sets. I was a dealer way back when. I forgot they made Dummies at one time. Powered and dummy with horn $369. Anyone have one of these? Don

Hi Don, I don't have their GG1 pair, but I do have the Williams by Bachmann GP30's. The nice thing about their dummies is that they can all be made working with the addition of the power trucks and an e-unit. But, I guess that is true for any dummy engine. The beauty of the Williams product line is that they made it so easy.
Good morning Don. We still have a dummy Scale GG1 in the unusual 'Blackjack' scheme with 5 gold stripes. A very striking engine!

They still have them in semi-scale diecast but stopped making the scale versions.
I like the GG-1 design, but never bought a Williams GG-1.
Also I knew an independant Williams dealer back when it was only Williams(before Bachmann). Got some great deals from the guy, bought a set of Santa Fe F-7's(A-B-A, one powered A unit) and a set of six passenger cars lettered for the Santa Fe 'El Capitan', $400.00 for all nine peices, these are from the Crown Edition era.

Lee, I just bought my first Williams in years. A Milwaukee E-7 set. I'm detailing it a bit but thinks it's great. I still have my Williams brass Cab-Forward, Daylight and a few other brass engines they made. Don
I have the blue Conrail engines with true sound. I have not run them since I first got them and forgot about them having the true sounds until I seen this post.

I have a Williams dummy I got in trade. Nice. Could be powered very easily except they didn't put a gear on the axle, so it does need a lot of work, to work, or a new power truck.
I did have the Brunswick 5 stripe pair but put them in the Bay a couple years ago when I started selling most of my semi scale and going scale.

To power up any unpowered Williams you have to change out the truck assembly! It comes with the power upgrade kit from WbB.

I don't think they make any dummies anymore. The GG1 dummies haven't been around for awhile, and I think they've been phasing the diesel ones (other than the cab unit E's, F's and ALCO's) out over they past couple years as well.
From reading the reply by Bachmann on their forum about Williams GP-30 dummies, I doubt that Williams by Bachmann will offer any new unpowered units for diesel engines again. Claims that it costs too much to make a dummy unit.
