i just got a santa fe super chief madison from ebay. it was "NIB" , but upon openning , the diecast trucks were in pieces. the rest of the car is indeed in new shape.. bummer. i contacted the seller and he offered to give me a refund for the car (was cheap) and i could keep it instead of paying for return shipping.

where can i fine  replacement 3 axle trucks ? the couplers and center power rollers are in fine shape.  i got the car as a test car for my track laying.

Most of the Williams and Williams by Bachmann parts for the truck assemblies should be able to work with either one. Replace the whole truck assembly rather then repair it.

Your Williams Santa Fe Super Chief might be a few years old, like from the 1980's.

As for cost to repair the truck assembly you may want to consider the prices before doing the repair, sometimes parts are expensive.

I bought another caboose one time rather then repair it as the costs for parts exceeded what I could buy a new one for. I kept the caboose for parts for another caboose or freight car that may need parts.

Are you sure it was a Williams?

Because the problem sounds more like a K-Line truck issue then a Williams issue.

I have noticed that some of the older Williams passenger cars used what looks like K-Line truck assemblies, like on the second run of the Crown Edition passenger cars, very similar to the K-Line Golden State car trucks.

I have bought two different sets of the same roadname passenger cars in the Crown Edition and the two sets have different coupler and truck assemblies, both were not bought at the same time.
