You may have seen some of my posts regarding this engine. I bought it off of the 'bay a couple of weeks ago and it had some issues.

There was a serious bind in the mechanism, which turned out to be incorrect order of the tandem rods, causing alignment issues and a bent Main rod. I managed to get that all straighten out and re-assembled correctly. While I had the boiler removed from chassis, I did a thorough cleaning and re-lube.  I found the paint finish, just TOO glossy, so I did some weathering on it, but was not happy.

I decided to do a complete re-paint and re-lettering and took some pictures of the results. Unfortunately, i did not have the correct lettering for the engine/tender and ended up using a set of CDS white "Roman".

I am pretty happy with the results and I think it looks a lot better. Certainly runs nice and smokes like crazy!  Al

I had a blast working on this engine. I suppose most would have sent the engine back for a refund, but I like a challenge and I am really enjoying playing around with these Williams engines. The are priced so cheap and seem to be a very solid quality.

I have a Weaver Dreyfus Hudson(and a Williams "Smithsonian" on the way!) the Weaver needs some work, as it does not run(another Trainz special lol).  Al
