I know I’m not the first one to think of this but I thought I would share this method.I use my Dremel with a cutoff wheel to adjust the width of Xacto#18 blades. I label them and keep each caboose set in discarded RX bottles. Makes the job of windows much easier. When cutting scribed siding make the horizontal cut first.

Great idea.

How do you make the cut? Hammer, hand pressure, directly square on or angle the blade in ?
Your work is always exquisite.

I am curious also about what Ron asked. I'm sure it will be useful for me as I have a big project coming up.
Mostly depends in how brittle the wood might be; but the cleanest cuts are sharp blades and fast blows. I use a small tack hammer, often backwards; striking on a fat plastic Exacto handle with the wood of the hammer's handle. One has a striking disk.
I cut long, and then file most final dimensions.
I believe Brother works mostly in styrene.

I do work predominantly in styrene. I lace the chisel on my mark and press it through with the palm of my left hand. The blades are dedicated to this use and actually hold their edge for quite a while.
Interesting technique. Have not used an Xacto knife for many years having switched over to a selection of scalpels and keeping 5-6 of them on the bench.
Thanks Brother!
Please keep sharing these great building techniques.
Thanks!
