It's the middle of winter and all of a sudden you have a 4 day forecast for temps in the 80' & 90's. You call up a few buddies, set up track on some table out back and run trains followed by some pizza. Note the masks and distancing. we played safe. Today the temp never broke 50 and lots of light rain.

Steve, you did it once again. I'm almost sold on Standard Gauge. Before I drop any $$$ in S scale, perhaps a narrow shelf extending around my small, albeit dry, room downstairs in the basement might provide more enjoyment afterall? The entrance to the room will require a lift out to complete the oval which is perfect for a "Heavy Metal" Hellgate bridge!

Following the basic social distancing COVID rules has made it very tough for running trains. I had to tear out my dual track mainline and replace it with a single track because I didn't have room to space the tracks 6 feet apart. It was the same situation with positioning cars on the yard tracks - the way my yard is built I can only put 4 cars in it - two spaced 6 feet apart on the far track and two on the near track. And I can only keep one engine in the roundhouse ...oh well, at least I can still run trains...

I think I have a fix for the yard situation. Prohibit brakemen from being on the tops of cars. Use a diesel with one man on the ground to pass signals and uncouple cars. IT won't be very efficient, but you can handle more cars. :-)
Lucky you ! Here in eastern PENN. we have 30 degree weather and the threat of snow and ice this weekend. I may have to get myself working on unfinished standard gauge projects .
This week has been 40-50’s, lots of rain with more coming in a few days.
