WOODLAND SCENICS BLDGS ON SALE AT MENARDS

Menards does not have stores in my area (Arkansas). I have had good luck in the past contacting and purchasing directly from individual stores and arranging for delivery.  I have bought all of the Menards versions of the Woodland Scenics buildings on clearance from three different stores.  Pat B.

I just bought a Menard's building and I need help with the lighting.  There were no directions on how to illuminate the building. It has LED lights.  

Can I use a Z500 transformer to light the LED's??  Or do I need a different transformer such as an N scale (DC) transformer???

Paul, The Woodland Scenics buildings from Menards can be powered with an AC Transformer 16-20 Volts. They have a built in rectifier to convert the AC to DC for the LED's.

The webpage for the door factory and the department store reads:

• Requires 16-20V direct wire connection to model railroad controller for lights to function

You guys probably know this already, but some of those Woodlamd Scenics buildings are now available as kits for about $30-$40 less. Time is money, but if you're into customizing...

We have a Menards just down the street.  They've whittled their Christmas 'toys' down to a small area, but among the stuff last week was the 3-story Mercantile (W/S Department Store) and 3 of the wood corner taverns (apparently not as strong a seller....at least in our area.)  They are on sale (red tag).  However, last week Menard's ran their third consecutive 11% rebate offer...better yet.  And on Saturday past, they ALSO ran the first day of their 14% off anything that fits in the brown paper bag.  On Saturday only that was 11% rebate PLUS the 14% off the SALE price.

OK....kick me.  I already had them from earlier purchases and passed up the opportunity.  

Dunno whether they're still there.  Although the 11% deal is over, the 14% bag-deal continues.  Take your spouse, or go back into the store, put on your nose/mustache/eyeglass disguise, go through a different line.  Only one of the buildings will fit the bag per purchase, one filled bag per purchase.

Hope those of you outside Menard's current territory get one of their stores soon.  They're excellent!!
